Crushed pavement is Indian sandstone that has been gently tumbled in a spinning drum supported with granite sand and water. This procedure softly knocks down any sharp or rough edges on the edges and the riven surface of the stone, giving it a more characterful appearance.

Because it is resilient, Indian sandstone is ideal for an outdoor patio. The tumbling process makes it less porous and stain-resistant, unlike concrete paving, where defects and chips are readily visible under the surface color; Indian sandstone weathers well and improves with age like aged wine.
